FORSa PINK New Year's Letter.

New Year's celebration is tomorrow night wich means I wont be on here that much these next couple of days, so I want to do this before the year is over.First of all Im so thankfull with God to put me where I am rigth now, to have the family that I have, and for blessing me with such good friends. And thanks to all the people that take some time to read my blogs I didn't expect to have 20-30 readers a day, so that means I will be bloggin lot more.

But most important I want to talk about the year that I've gone thru; I came to Houston to start my college life here and to reunite with my boyfriend and work on our relationship that was pretty much destroyed after being on a long distance relationship for almost a year, I can't sit here and write about how good things have been because is not all pretty all the time but I can say without a doubt that these 3 years and a half have meant the world to me and that I would do it over and over again times 100.

My life as a Fashion Merchandising student has been more difficult than I ever imagine but luckly I have loving and caring people around me that support me and never let me down and they are my strength to keep going and leave no room for failure and have a succesfull future.

Being away from home has been the hardest thing of it all my dad recently went through health problems and not being able to be there the whole time is heartbreaking, my niece and my newphew are my life and even though I try to talk on the phone with them everyday is very difficult to be so far from them, me and my mom are very close so we miss each other a lot, I know that life is about making sacrifices and move on and that has made me appreciate my family even more and my relationship with them is much open and stronger than ever, but is all worth it.

These last couple of months helped me rediscover myself and I can now say that in this moment theres is no one that I want to be moe than myself.

Thank you God for another year of life and blessings.

I woke up early to go to the DPS office and they retook my photo lucky for me, I was a total mess and it got worse when the lady asked me to take off my sunglasses, and I accidentaly blurped out or most likely yelled at her "do I have to take'em off?", she said; yes and I think they all heard you. And as for my finds they are all under $10 and I found them at Ross.
Can you belive the blue dress was only $6.99

Cinammon Roll and Capuccino.

That's today's breakfast not healthy but is not by choice, I'd rather have fruit and orange juice.
I'm starting to realize that the weigth that I've gained is because I don't live with my parents anymore and is hard because my mom cooks every day and me and my boyfriend only eat fast food, restaurant food or whatever I make which is only once a week because my schedule is so hectic even that is almost impossible, I've already stop ed going to the gym because of that but I'm going to star going again next year when all Christmas and New Year's Parties are over.

I bougth Lucky Magazine yesterday with Blake Lively on the cover. I have to admit that I am a fan of Gossip Girl it was almost like a dream come true when I found out they were making Gossip Girl a TV Show, only because I read every single Gossip girl book and the It girl books too where Jenni is the main character, and honestly I know is very different from the book but overall I think they did a great job picking the characters specially Dan, but anyways as I was saying Lucky Magazine is so my style they feature girls or women with different professions and looks in every issue and this one in particular is mee all overr shes an Interior Designer but a fashionista as well and thats how I see myself in 5 years so it was really special to read this and see that everyone can be into two different things at tehe same time so with that said, I want to clean up my closet again and just have stuff that I really use and feel good about so I'm having a Garage Sale this Saturday and Sunday I don't expect a lot of people coming but I'll just see how it goes. and hopefully with the money I make I can buy new stuff.

I pledge to buy handmade this season and request that others do the same for me.

Please take the handmade pledge to support all of our talent out there. Here are some reasons why buying handmade is so special.

Take the handmade pledge by clicking the banner on your right and add it to your page myspace, facebook, blog, etc.

(note I didn't write this I copied and pasted from http://www.buyhandmade.org/)

Why buy handmade?

  • Buying Handmade makes for better gift-giving.

The giver of a handmade gift has avoided the parking lots and long lines of the big chain stores in favor of something more meaningful. If the giver has purchased the gift, s/he feels the satisfaction of supporting an artist or crafter directly. The recipient of the handmade gift receives something that is one-of-a-kind, and made with care and attention that canbe seen and touched. It is the result of skill and craftsmanship that is absent in the world of large-scale manufacturing.

  • Buying handmade is better for people.

The ascendancy of chain store culture and global manufacturing has left us dressing, furnishing, and decorating alike. We are encouraged to be consumers, not producers, of our own culture. Our ties to the local and human sources of our goods have been lost. Buying handmade helps us reconnect.

  • Buying handmade is better for the environment.

The accumulating environmental effects of mass production are a major cause of global warming and the poisoning of our air, water and soil. Every item you make or purchase from a small-scale independent artist or crafter strikes a small blow to the forces of mass production.
And here are some of my favorite handmade sites and some of my favorite things they sell
enjoy =)
